SoBol, the fast-growing acai bowl and smoothie café, has become a beloved name on the East Coast by offering fresh, fruit-based meals that support a healthy lifestyle. Founded in 2013 in Sayville, New York, SoBol began with a simple idea inside an Italian ice cream shop and has since grown, with the help of Accurate Franchising, Inc. into a thriving franchise with over 75 locations and more than 20 additional units in development.
Jason Mazzarone, the founder of SoBol, originally operated a small Italian ice business when he began experimenting with acai bowls. The product quickly developed a loyal following, prompting him to open the first dedicated SoBol location in 2013. A second corporate-owned store soon followed, reinforcing the concept’s potential.
By 2016, with two successful corporate stores and growing demand, Jason saw an opportunity to expand the brand beyond Long Island but was unsure how to scale a franchise and establish the structure needed for growth.

With AFI’s guidance, SoBol transitioned from a local business to a rapidly expanding franchise, strategically selling territories across New York, North Carolina, Virginia, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Florida, with Tennessee coming soon.
Thanks to a streamlined buildout process, averaging just 2 to 4 months, SoBol has maintained momentum in launching new franchise locations. With operational consistency, brand integrity, and a strong franchise network, SoBol continues to expand its presence along the East Coast and beyond.
